Rebundle aka Better braid founded by Ciara Imani May and Danielle Washington! 

Looking up sustainable hair extension brands about 8 months ago and came across Rebundle. A hair extension brand with ingredients made from mainly banana plant fibers.

Here’s a bit of backstory on their come-up.

Have you ever thought about why your scalp itches so much when you’re wearing braids? Brands like Expression are well known for being extremely itchy, annoying, and damaging.

According to recent studies, xpression hair is made using toxic chloride substances and other compounds. Triton one of the compounds found in xpressions is known by the state of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. Yeah, it’s all very shocking! 

Ciara told teen vogue that the reason for her starting the brand was because she suffered from scalp irritation many times before with braiding hair. This evolved into her learning about the chemicals and looking for plant-based alternatives. 

It’s not easy to find studies on these brands and the ingredients they use because there isn’t enough funding to do so.

The only ingredients for their braiding hair are the natural banana plant fibers that are cut by hand, of course, non-toxic dye, organic shampoo and conditioner, protein treatment, and grapeseed oil. 

It comes in a variety of colors from pink, blue, blonde, brown, auburn, and natural black. They all come in one length, which is 28 inches.

It can be curled and it takes to heat up to 400 degrees. Pretty impressive!
