How to Make Money Building Websites for Small Businesses

If you’re looking for a way to make some extra money or even a full-time gig that lets you quit your 9-to-5, I’ve got something awesome to share with you. In this guide, I’ll show you an easy and legit way to make up to $350 in just 4 hours, and the best part? You can do it right from your phone! This isn’t something that’s super saturated, so there’s plenty of room for you. Plus, you can do it from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Getting Started: Finding Small Business Owners

First things first, you need to find small business owners who could use a website. These businesses can be local or anywhere in the world. Here’s how you start:

  1. Create a Free Account with Google Gemini or ChatGPT: You can use either of these tools to help you find small businesses. Just ask for a list of local small business types. For example, I got results based on my location in New Orleans, but you can do this from anywhere.
  2. List of Business Types: The results will break down into categories like retail (jewelry stores, craft stores), restaurants, and service businesses (hair salons, spas, dry cleaning, home improvement). This gives you an idea of the types of businesses to target.

Using Google Maps and Facebook

There are two main ways to find these businesses:

  1. Google Maps:
    • Search for a type of business, like “plumber.”
    • Look for businesses that don’t have websites. When you find one, write down their name and phone number.
  2. Facebook:
    • Search for businesses, like “electricians.”
    • Look for profiles without websites. Facebook profiles often list an email address, which can be easier than calling.

Making a List

Spend some time finding at least 50 businesses that don’t have websites. This will be your target list.

Offering Website Creation Services

Now that you have your list, you’ll be offering to build websites for these businesses. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to code or build a website. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Use Hostinger’s AI Website Builder:
    • Hostinger has an AI tool that makes creating a website super easy.
    • You don’t need to be tech-savvy. It takes just a few clicks to have a live website.
  2. Reaching Out to Clients:
    • I’ve included a template you can use to email potential clients. You can tweak it to fit your style.
    • Before reaching out, build your own website first. This way, you can show potential clients an example of your work.

Building Your Own Website

Building your own website first helps you practice and get familiar with the system. Plus, when clients ask for examples, you’ll have something to show them.

Steps to Build Websites for Clients

Once a client agrees to let you build their website, follow these steps:

  1. Sign Up with Hostinger:
    • Use my discount code to get a special deal.
    • Always suggest at least a 12-month plan for your clients. They get a free domain, which you can pitch as a special offer.
  2. Set Pricing:
    • You can start by charging around $350 for a 24-month period. This way, you make a good profit.
    • As you gain experience, you can charge more. Some professionals charge over $800 for a website!

Creating the Website

Here’s what you need to do once a client signs up:

  1. Create a New Google Account for each website. This way, if the client wants to take over later, they can.
  2. Ask the Client for Details:
    • Brand name
    • Type of website
    • Description of their business (services, years in business, location)
  3. Build the Website:
    • Use Hostinger’s AI to create the website.
    • You can customize it by changing titles, images, and adding sections.
    • Use AI to generate a logo if needed.

Getting Paid

To get paid, set up a business PayPal account. You don’t need an LLC to start, but it’s good to get one as you grow. PayPal is a trusted payment method and allows you to send invoices. You can also use other payment methods like Square.

Final Tips

  1. Finding Clients: It might take some time to get your first few clients. Use Google Maps and Facebook to make a list of businesses without websites.
  2. Expand Your Reach: Target various types of small businesses, not just one type.
  3. Consistency: Even if you start with a few clients, the potential is huge. Just four clients a month can earn you an extra $1,000!
